Playing the Sweedish Ikv103 on the Overlord map is a bit tricky. Considering the Ikv 103 weak armor, the Ikv 103 role is usually to assist and support other tanks from far away hidden locations. However, even if there are plenty of bushes to hide on the Overlord map, there aren’t enough long line of sights to use from far away positions.
Ikv 103 It has very thin armor and mediocre health points which means it will lose in almost any direct confrontation so what should you do with the Ikv 103 tank?
So I was quite surprised to see that going to the middle of the maps and keeping mobile might do the trick for this map
Coming from the North directly to the center of the map and hiding behind the rock at e8 – a good place to spot almost the entire map. The gaming tactic consist in going up behind the bushes and reverse quickly once you are spotted.
At the end of the game, where only a few tanks are left, going inside the central valley gives the opportunity to have access to both sides of the map. To the South to attack and to the North to defend home base.
The game ends with almost 5000 experience and 36000 coins which is quite good considering how difficult this map is for a tank destroyer.
In another replay, we can see rick9304 doing even more damage, with 7 kills and 6700 experience, using mostly the same technique – hiding behind the central edge
If you are looking for a more classical approach to playing TD on the Overlord map, MaxGamingFPS indicates some spotting places in B9 if you come from the North (or even A5 if you like far away positions) and I9 if you are coming from the South. But these look more generic, and not necessarily adapted to eh Ikv 103.
However, I found a player that applies both strategies: he first goes to E8 and as enemies are pushing, he retreats to B8 and finally waits for the last 2 enemy players at A9
